West Yorkshire Windows in Wakefield & Leeds were approached by Sky 1 to donate a conservatory for a lady called Val Lepedat for the Noel Edmonds Christmas Present TV show.
The Story
Valerie Lepedat, 66 was diagnosed with breast cancer ten years ago and she has been courageously fighting the disease ever since. This inspired Val and a fellow member of the Patient Focus Group, Lynne Rothwell to do something to help all cancer patients. Val and Lynne came up with the concept of The Aurora Center a dedicated unit offering free treatments to improve the quality of life for cancer patients.

With the majority of the UK being battered by both high winds and heavy rain, now is the time to have your guttering, cladding, fascia boards, barge boards & soffits checked for blockages and damage.
The recent high winds have littered our streets and gardens with leaves & twigs from many trees. This coupled with the torrential rain which has dislodged much of the moss which grows on many roofs has highly increased the chances of a blockage in either your guttering or drainpipes from this debris.
When a drainpipe is blocked with dislodged moss and/or leaves the water in the guttering cannot drain away. Ineffective drainage can lead on to further problems with your fascia boards, barge boards, soffits & cladding. Nobody likes to spend money when they do not have to and more so now than ever in the current credit crunch we are all looking to save money. One such expense which many people debate is whether to install replacement windows and doors or not. There are several considerations which you need to think about to determine if you need replacement windows.
One of the most important factors which you must consider is safety and all too often this is surprisingly overlooked. If there was a fire in your house often windows would be the only means of escape therefore particularly first floor and above windows should be easy to open. Often old wooden windows will have been painted so many times that they can no longer be opened and this is a serious safety risk.
