At this time of year you may find that your home tends to get dark very quickly and not just as a result of the short daylight hours. Sometimes it is just because your existing windows and doors are not positioned in areas where this light can best be utilised, or it could be because they are simply not equipped to make the most of sunlight. If this is currently the case in your home then you need to invest in a new set of doors.
UPVC doors are useful, but very often they come with very little glazing and are predominantly made up of UPVC as opposed to glass. However, UPVC French doors differ slightly in that they can be placed towards the back of the interior of your home and offer a great amount of glass, as well as style and sophistication.
These doors…
Lack of space is something which regularly causes problems in the home, especially when your family begins to grow and you only have a small household. Very often we do not make the most of what space you do potentially have available. West Yorkshire Windows wonders how many of these people have a garage which is currently being left unused and which could be utilised to create vital additional space.
Similar to a conservatory, glass extensions and conservatories in Leeds, a garage conversion could be the perfect answer when you need to make more room in the home. We can convert your garage into an area where you relax, cook or even sleep, as the option is there to turn it into a second living room, separate kitchen area or bedroom.
Too many people just use their garage as a dumping ground…

The saying goes that you cannot teach an old dog new tricks. Nothing could be further from the truth when it comes to the issue of replacement windows as they can make a difference in an old or contemporary property. There are so many different things they can bring to a home once installed including improved aesthetics, enhanced energy efficiency and a reduced carbon footprint.
Many old properties still have single glazed windows present and these are the types of home that suffer from draughts and the cold. Old windows are simply not capable of keeping a home warm as the glass tends to be thin enough to allow outside air to get into the home and any warm generated inside to seep through to the outdoors. When the windows are hit by adverse weather they also tend to lose their looks and become dishevelled and untidy looking.
The difference…

There is nothing better than sitting inside on Christmas Day opening all your presents, followed by a shedload of food and drink, before settling down in front of the TV with the family. A cosy home is a comfortable home, especially on occasions like this. However, not everyone will have this luxury as many properties will be without new windows and therefore subject to draughts. West Yorkshire Windows can change all that and in plenty of time for Christmas.
We suggest that you have double glazing installed in as many rooms in the home as possible, or at least in the living room as this is where you will most probably spend the most of your time at this time of year. We produce and supply casement windows, tilt and turn windows and whitegrain UPVC windows and doors. No matter how…
The Energy and Climate Change Secretary Chris Huhne, has announced a scheme to improve the efficiency of homes across the UK. It involves allowing households across the country to take out loans from their local council so that they can install double glazing in at their properties. The scheme has been christened The Green Deal. However, this scheme has not yet been rolled out to homes in Wales and Scotland.
With the government acknowledging the efficiency of double glazing, it just goes to show how they are the real deal when it comes to energy saving. Even those homes that do not qualify for this initiative should take note of how effective a new set of windows can be when compared with their current equivalents. Old windows no longer have the ability to cope with the cold, particular as the weather has got more extreme and unpredictable…
With winter fast approaching it makes to get your home fully equipped and prepared for the coming months. One of the first places you should check is functioning correctly is the boiler, particularly if you do not want to risk going without heat should it not be working properly. Once you are sure that the boiler is in good working order, you need to make sure that any heat that it generates is not wasted and the only way you can do is by installing new windows.
Double glazing is designed to keep all heat that is created indoors and will act to help hot air circulate around the room, meaning you and your family never have a reason to feel cold. Double glazing in Huddersfield has also been known to add value to homes as no one wants to move into a home which could…
