If it’s been several years since you last made some improvements to your home, we sincerely hope that one of your New Year resolutions is to give it some attention.
And there’s no time like the present to do it, particularly now that we all face some more time at home.
But you can’t do anything until you have some ideas of how best to enhance the space.
That’s where West Yorkshire Windows can come in with some great advice, which we’ve got from visiting numerous interior design blogs to find out what home trends will be HOT this year.
Cottagecore
Many of those living in bustling towns and cities wish that they could up sticks to the countryside and experience the much calmer and comforting lifestyle that it offers.
To bring some of that feeling into their homes, people are introducing the cottagecore aesthetic, which is very much influenced by country living.
It’s so simple to do too. The addition of floral prints on walls and in textures, displaying vintage china on a dresser, and having a farmhouse table in the kitchen encapsulates cottagecore perfectly.
Home Offices
Due to the pandemic, traditional offices were deserted for the most part of 2020, and the beginning of 2021 will see office workers continue WFH.
No surprise then that interest in home offices has shot up significantly, which makes sense if you have difficulty turning a bedroom, kitchen or attic into a makeshift workspace that fully caters to your needs.
Going down the route of investing in a permanent home office also gives you the advantage of having it created bespoke so that you get the final say on everything.
Shelfies
It used to be selfies that went viral. But now it’s ‘shelfies’ that take social media by storm.
If you don’t know what a shelfie is, just open an Instagram account and type in the hashtag, which is when you will see all manner of snazzy shelfs with cutely thought out objects displayed on them.
You can add everything from glassware and ceramics to porcelain and candles to your best shelf, but the different colours all need to bounce off each other and not clash. Then put the flash on your phone and snap it.
