How To Give Your Home A Very Fashionably Festive Look

How to give your home a fantastic festive look

Everyone has endured a tough year and deserves a bit of cheeriness before 2020 comes to a close, hopefully enjoying a fantastic Christmas at home with our loved ones.

We hope that’s what you’re planning on doing and are fully committed to getting into the festive spirit.

If you are, your home should already be decorated for the big day, but if it’s not, it’s time that you changed that and gave it a Christmassy look, inside and out.

Put on your best festive knit and get to work with our three on-trend decorating tips:

Hang an upside-down Christmas tree

We haven’t gone mad, promise! Lots of people are hanging their Christmas tree from the ceiling this year, including celebs like Ariana Grande.

You’d think it was a brand-new craze, but it was first done back in the Middle Ages, so Ariana, we’re sorry, but you didn’t come up with the concept.

As a result of this surge in demand for upside-down Christmas trees, online retailers such as Christmas Tree World are selling them in droves.

Light up your staircase

We put so much focus on decorating our windows and doors at Christmas, yet we often neglect to put a festive spin on our stairs, which you should.

For the next month, you could have a bannister adorned with an all-natural garland, either at its base or on top of it. The stair rails can also be exploited with little stringed garlands twisted around them.

And how about adding some Christmassy-looking boxes to each of the steps on the run up to the top?

Wrap your front door like a Christmas present

You will have plenty of presents to wrap, and you can wrap your front door to look like one of them too.

There are only a few things you need to do it – red fabric (if it’s a white or light-coloured door), scissors, duct tape, a heavy duty magnet and a large bow.

The first job is to measure the door so that the fabric can be cut to the right size, and then wrap the door with it and tape it down, using the heavy duty magnet to hold the large bow secure.
